Mountain Landscape in the Ahrntal

South Tyrol’s northernmost valley welcomes you with fantastic hiking and mountain bike trails, ski slopes, and plenty of sights.

The Ahrntal in South Tyrol is an experience in every season. Around our holiday destination of St. Jakob, you will find an extensive network of panoramic trails, summit ascents, and mountain bike trails that bring you closer to the most beautiful sides of our region. You can take a relaxed hut tour over lush, bright-green alpine meadows or climb impressive mountains such as Dreiherrenspitze (3,499 m), with good conditions for hiking along the main Alpine ridge.

Theme trails such as the Leonardi trail, which runs past Tischlerhof, bring you closer to the country, its people, and its history. In addition, starting from your apartment, a hike to our idyllic Tischleralm in the Bärental presents itself.

A paradise for winter sports enthusiasts

Two outstanding ski areas await you in the Ahrntal: Klausberg in Steinhaus and Speikboden near Luttach. At the Klausberg ski area, you will find the highest 8-person cable car in South Tyrol at 2,500 metres. Speikboden shows off with the longest natural toboggan run in all of South Tyrol.

Naturally, our impressive mountain landscape also beckons you to ski tours and snowshoe hikes – such as Henne (2,448 m) or even Keilbachspitze (3,094 m). Several cross-country ski trails can be found in the valley; one of the most beautiful is at Heilig Geist in Kasern. You can also hike comfortably through the snow-covered winter forest and warm yourself up with mulled wine and a magnificent panoramic view.
