Tischlerhof

Our mountain hut in the Bärental

Do you feel like a proper alpine hike? Then head to Tischleralm.

The Bärental is a side valley in the Ahrntal

Don’t worry, bears don’t live there, but a fantastic alpine landscape with a view of the impressive main ridge of the Zillertal Alps awaits you. And the mighty Hirbernock (3,010 m) towers over everything. Our own Tischleralm can be found at 1,700 m – a contemplative hiking destination that offers you a beautiful view, a comfortable rest area, and our small petting zoo—just the thing for a family with children. If you take a holiday in the Ahrntal in early October, you can watch the Almabtrieb (cattle drive). This is a particularly popular event every year, to which you are cordially invited. Here, you will be served delicacies that are typical for our Ahrntal.

The “Teldra Köscht” – a real treat!

The cooking is just as original and pure as the valley.

The hike to Tischleralm

From Tischlerhof, take the valley road and turn below St. Jakob in the Ahrntal onto Höfestraße (marker 7). This goes over meadows and past Kerschbaumhöfen to Matzelerhof. From there, a wide forest path leads into the Bärental. You can also shorten your route on a narrow but steeper climb over the forested slopes. On your path, you will come to our Tischleralm and can continue hiking to Hochfeldalm (1,837 m) and Bärentalalm (1,874 m). It takes two to two-and-a-half hours to reach this point, depending on the route. The descent leads you back on the ascent path in about an hour and a half.
